Foot Orthotics

Foot orthotics are custom-made shoe inserts that are medically proven to eliminate pain and discomfort. Foot orthotics are designed to improve the foot functions by correcting the alignment of the foot and lower extremity, thereby adjusting the areas of weight-bearing on the foot towards the normal pattern. After prescription of your orthotics, when you start utilizing them in your shoes, you may still experience aching of your legs or feet during the first few days of wearing orthotics; this is normal. In fact, it is a sign that your orthotics are working. Your body is now experiencing the changes in biomechanics of your feet and lower limbs; therefore, some time is needed so the body adapts to the new conditions and accommodate your feet to the proper functioning. However, if this discomfort does not stop after few weeks, contact your healthcare practitioner immediately. Your orthotics could need a minor adjustment.
